The Government of Kenya has received financial assistance from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) towards financing the Upper Tana Catchment Natural Resources Management Project. The project completion date is 31st December 2022 and the closure date is June 2023. The goal of the project is to contribute to rural poverty reduction in the Upper Tana River Catchment through increased sustainable food production and incomes and sustainable management of natural resources for provision of environmental services. The Project Lead Agency is the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation. Project Coordination and Management is undertaken by a competitively recruited Project Coordinating Unit (PCU) staff.

Towards accomplishing its objectives, the Upper Tana Catchment Natural Resources Management Project (UTaNRMP) intends to use part of the funds to procure an atomic absorption spectroscopy machine. Details on this are provided in the documents attached herewith.
